I made a DIY privacy fence using a sheet of fabric and zip ties

A DIY fan has revealed her super-easy privacy fence that is within reach of those even with limited skills.

All she used was a sheet of fabric and some zip ties and before she knew it she had a fully-functioning barrier far from prying eyes.

The idea came courtesy of TikTok user Sweet Healer (@sweet_healer).

“DIY, how to cover your fence for privacy," she said in her post as she introduced her method.

She already had a good framework in place in the form of a solid 6-foot high metal fence that stretched across an area in excess of 20 feet.

There was no doubt it was substantial but it did little in the way of offering any privacy.

As it stood there was none at all and the garden was open to onlookers from every direction.

Rather than start from scratch and erect a completely new fence, she came up with a practical solution.

It was a quick and easy one, that didn't put too much strain on the wallet.

But it was also within the realm of even the most inept of DIY-ers.

In her post, she displayed the area she wanted to address and make more private.

On the ground in front of the existing metal fence lay a stretch of all-weather fabric.

Beside it was the tools required to complete the job: zip ties, pliers, and a pair of scissors - and that was it.

First, the fabric was cut to size to match the space she wanted to cover, and then it was stretched over the area.

Then zip ties were used to hold it into position and after she went along the fence snipping off the ends of the zip ties with a set of pliers.

The finished job looked neat and professional and she had a privacy fence that offered a refuge from onlookers.
