Chemistry Council of New Jersey’s Statement on the Passing of Lt. Governor Oliver

August 1, 2023 – (Trenton, NJ) – The following is a statement from Dennis Hart, executive director, Chemistry Council of New Jersey:

The Chemistry Council of New Jersey is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver.

Throughout her tenure in the New Jersey Legislature and later as Speaker of the New Jersey Assembly, the Council and its membership had the privilege of developing a strong and fruitful relationship with Lt. Governor Oliver. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to serving the people of New Jersey were evident in every interaction we had with her.

Working alongside Lt. Governor Oliver on various policy matters and issues of mutual interest was always a pleasure. Her keen understanding of the complexities of our industry and her willingness to engage in constructive dialogue allowed us to find common ground for the betterment of all New Jerseyans.

As we express our heartfelt condolences, we join her family and friends, her esteemed colleagues in the administration, and all who had the honor of knowing her in mourning her loss. Lt. Governor Oliver’s leadership and candor will be dearly missed, leaving a void in our hearts and in the fabric of New Jersey’s governance.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with those who are profoundly affected by her passing. May her legacy continue to inspire us all to strive for excellence and service to the great state of New Jersey.
